History

AGORA was founded in 1985. The initial incorporates were Edgar Ackerman, Randy Mask and Tim Wimberly.

Radical Christian Training (RCT) was our leadership training program that was started in the summer of 1986. The first camp was held at the Church in the Wildwood in Canyon Lake, TX. Fourteen young people, spent six weeks, preparing themselves to be RADICAL WARRIORS. In 1987, RCT partnered with the South Texas District Assemblies of God Youth Department to disciple the young people of South Texas. Over 600 teenagers attended this month long camp. Many of those who attended had life changing, divine appointments. The call of God to be pastors, missionaries and dedicated church leaders was experienced by several of the campers.

Believers Armed and Dangerous was a ministry that started as a result of the RCT training. When the youth came home, they challenged us to give them a place to do what they had been trained to do. Over a three year period, over 3,000 individuals made commitments to follow Christ.

AGORA Ministries Mission Center (Action House) located in the inner city of San Antonio is another fruit from the ministry. Since the first RCT in 1985, AGORA has had an impact in the 78207 zip code community. We offer several seasonal outreaches for the community to experience the HOPE that is available to them as part of God's creation.
